Grade 6- World Almanac – Big Board Facts Game.
Student play a Jeopardy style games using the World Almanac to find the answers.
Library information concepts: Selecting informational texts & literary non-fiction.
Competencies: Independently use various print and digital reference sources.

Grade 5- Continue collaborative writing project.
Student will continue to work on writing a story inspired by the illustrations in the Mysteries of Harris Burdick.
Library Information Concepts: Using images to inspire writing.
Competencies: Working together to develop a story. Using images to inspire thinking.
Common Core Standard:  CC: W.5.4 Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development and organization are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.


Grade 4 – Continue Tall Tales unit. We will begin our look at various Tall Tales as how the represented various occupations who helped build this country.
Read: Stormalong.
Objective:  Understand the elements of a Tall Tale.
 Library Information Concepts: Identifying Literary Elements.
Competencies: Students respond to works of literature – with emphasis on comprehension and making connections among ideas.
Common Core Standard: CC.1.3.4.K  Read and comprehend literary fiction on grade level.


Grade 3 - Fairy Tales around the World Unit.
We will look at various well known fairy tales as well as similar stories told around the world and compare and contrast these stories.
Various Cinderella stories are explored. Compare and contrast these stories.
Objective:  Understand the elements of a Fairy Tale.
Library Information Concepts: Identifying Literary Elements.
Competencies: Students respond to works of literature – with emphasis on comprehension and making connections among ideas.
Common Core Standard: CC.1.3.3.F, CC.1.3.3.G


Grade 2 - Native American Literature. We will continue our look at Native American literature.
Coyote tales.
Library information concepts: Identifying Literary Elements.
Competencies: Identify characters and setting in story.
Explain plot in story.
Common Core Standard: CC.1.3.G

Grade 1  We will continue our look at author / illustrator Jan Brett.
Library Information Concepts: Identifying author and illustrator roles.
Competencies: Define roles of author and illustrator.
Common Core Standard: CC.1.3.D



Kindergarten - Grade 1  We will look at the Curious George series of books and creators Margaret and H. A. Rey.
Read: Curious George rides a bike.
Library Information Concepts: Identifying author and illustrator roles.
Competencies: Define roles of author and illustrator.
Common Core Standard: CC.1.3.D

Classes that won 1st half behavior parties will have parties during their scheduled library class.
