Grade 6- Continue Career Exploration Unit.
6th grade students will be introduced to various career options as well as do research into careers that interest them.
Resources used: Chromebooks will be used to research careers.

Grade 5- Continue collaborative writing project.
Student will continue to work on writing a story inspired by the illustrations in the Mysteries of Harris Burdick.
Library Information Concepts: Using images to inspire writing.
Competencies: Working together to develop a story. Using images to inspire thinking.
Common Core Standard:  CC: W.5.4 Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development and organization are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.


Grade 4 –Continue Tall Tales unit. We will begin our look at various Tall Tales as how they represented various occupations who helped build this country.
This week is Pecos Bill.
Objective:  Understand the elements of a Tall Tale.
 Library Information Concepts: Identifying Literary Elements.
Competencies: Students respond to works of literature – with emphasis on comprehension and making connections among ideas.
Common Core Standard: CC.1.3.4.K  Read and comprehend literary fiction on grade level.

Grade 3 - Fairy Tales around the World Unit.
We will look at various well known fairy tales as well as similar stories told around the world and compare and contrast these stories.
This week: Princes Furball.
Objective:  Understand the elements of a Fairy Tale.
Library Information Concepts: Identifying Literary Elements.
Competencies: Students respond to works of literature – with emphasis on comprehension and making connections among ideas.
Common Core Standard: CC.1.3.3.F, CC.1.3.3.G

Grade 2 - Native American Literature. We will continue our look at Native American literature.
This week: Monster Tales of the Native Americans.
Library information concepts: Identifying Literary Elements.
Competencies: Identify characters and setting in story.
Explain plot in story.

Skills: Development of Reading Comprehension, Phonemic Awareness, Vocabulary
Objective: Understand the relationship of illustration to text in a picture book.
