Grade 6- World Almanac Lesson (part 2)
Library information concepts: Selecting informational texts & literary non-fiction.
Competencies: Independently use various print and digital reference sources.

Grade 5- Continue collaborative writing project.
Student will continue to work on writing a story inspired by the illustrations in the Mysteries of Harris Burdick.
Library Information Concepts: Using images to inspire writing.
Competencies: Working together to develop a story. Using images to inspire thinking.
Common Core Standard:  CC: W.5.4 Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development and organization are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.


Grade 4 – Unit on dictionaries and their use. Part 2
We will go over dictionary use and do a worksheet for hands on experience.
Library information concepts: Selecting informational texts & literary non-fiction.
Competencies: Independently use various print and digital reference sources.

Grade 3  Magazine lesson. We will look at the various types of magazines that the library subscribes to. We will discuss special care of magazines when checked out.

Grade 2 - Native American Literature. We will begin our look at Native American literature.

Grade 1  We will begin our look at author / illustrator Jan Brett.

Kindergarten - Grade 1  We will look at the Curious George series of books and creators Margaret and H. A. Rey.

Classes that earned a library behavior reward party will have their parties during library class.

December 13, 2017 to January 4, 2018

We will read and discuss the story.
