Cycle 15


Mr. Demsko – Library Cycle 15 – April 19 to May 2, 2018
Staring on April 23rd. Students will also be viewing the Book Fair Preview for the upcoming Scholastic Book Fair.
Grade 6- Continue unit on Career Exploration.
6th grade students will be introduced to various career options as well as do research into careers that interest them.
Students will explore careers of their choosing.

Explain why education and training plans are important to careers.
Standard - 13.1.8.A
Relate careers to individual interests, abilities, and aptitudes.



Grade 5- Continue collaborative writing project.
Student will continue to work on writing a story inspired by the illustrations in the Mysteries of Harris Burdick.
Library Information Concepts: Using images to inspire writing.
Competencies: Working together to develop a story. Using images to inspire thinking.
Common Core Standard:  CC: W.5.4 Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development and organization are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.


Grade 4 –Continue Tall Tales unit. Regional Tall Tales will be explored. We will continue our look at various Tall Tales as how they represented various occupations which helped build this country.
Objective:  Understand the elements of a Tall Tale.

This week: Rapunzel.
We will look at various well known fairy tales as well as similar stories told around the world and compare and contrast these stories.
