Objective: Students will continue to work on their collaborative
writing project.

4 – Tall Tales.
Lesson: We will continue our look at Tall Tales and the
unique elements of a Tall Tale such as the extensive use of hyperbole. We will
see John Henry video.
Objective: Understand the elements of a Tall Tale.

Competencies: Students respond to works of literature – with
emphasis on comprehension and making connections among ideas.

Lesson: We will continue our look at Fairy Tales.

in a story and describe based on illustrations and details.

Kindergarten
We will begin our unit on Dr. Seuss. The man and his books.
Objective: Understand the relationship of illustration to text
in a picture book. Understand who Dr. Seuss was.
