LESSONS Cycle 3 Weeks 5-6

                                   September 25-October 10, 2012

Grade 6   Using SIRS Discoverer – Students will be given a lesson on using SIRS discover and shown how it can help them with homework and research projects.

                 

Grade 5  An introduction to On-line resources available to students such as Grolier On-Line as well as Power Library databases. Students will be shown how to access these databases and allowed time for hands on exploration.

Grade 4   Reference Section Overview. Dictionary lesson.  Students will be given a lesson on how to use the dictionary and will be given a worksheet to see if they can find definitions as well as understand guide words.

Grade 3   A look at Non-Fiction Books.

R3.A.2 Understand nonfiction appropriate to grade level.

Grade 2   Read: The Boy Who Was Raised by Librarians.

Grade 1 Read: Stuart at the Library.

Kindergarten: Read: Dewey, There’s a Cat in the Library!

Book Exchange classes for Cycle 3:

Grade 6 – Using the Internet (DVD)

Grade 5 – Library Lingo Game.

Grade 4 – Library Lingo Game.

Grade 3-  Dewey Hunt!

Grade 2- We will read: What Marion Taught Willis.

Grade 1- We will read; Wild About Books.

Kindergarten: Read: Ellison the Elephant.
